Absolutely No Shooting Outside of these Hours!!
SAFETY:
All rifle club members and guests are expected to know and practice safe gun handling rules. Follow the Ten Commandments of Gun Safety to prevent accidents.
Procedures:
· All guns shall be unloaded when you arrive at the range.
· The only guns that shall be loaded at the range are those on the trap or firing line and you are ready to shoot at a target.
· Behind the trap or firing line, all shotguns/rifles or pistols shall have the action open unless it is an automatic in which the action cannot be locked open or the weapon is in a gun case.
· Check in at the top range house; the orange flag shall be raised before firing any gun at the range.
· The automatic trap thrower, located in the trap house shall be used only when someone trained in its use is present. Use the portable trap thrower at other times.
· All clay targets shall be thrown north to northeast from the trap house. No clay targets shall be thrown or shot in the pit area.
· Use only a shotgun with shot shells for shooting clay targets. Do not place clay targets on the trap/ shotgun rests and shoot at them.
· When shooting in the pit area, down range is south ; maintain a common firing line when more than one member is present. All bullets must be aimed & shot into an orange box; all targets (including pins & spinners) must be placed inside an orange box. Do not shoot high power rounds at the .22 target frame on the pistol side of the range. Do not shoot at the power line.
· Refrain from consuming alcoholic beverages prior to or while using the range.
· The last member to leave the range, must be sure to secure (paddle lock) the range house and range gates. The outer gate shall have the two paddle locks interlocked, so when either one is unlocked it will free the chain which holds the gate. This is to provide NSP access to service the power line.
